Abbotsford Convent

The Abbotsford Convent is an extraordinary place and becoming an important arts, learning and cultural precinct in Melbourne. Just 4 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, its 11 historic buildings, gardens and car park are spread over 6.8 hectares in a sweeping bend in the Yarra River and are surrounded by the Collingwood Children's Farm and Yarra Bend Park.

Lentil as Anything at Abbotsford is the largest among 3 restaurants. More than 600 hundred diverse members in the community come to Lentil as Anything Abbotsford. There are 140 seats in total for both inside and outside seating.

Opened in 2005 in the former dining hall of the nuns. Its size and setting opened us out to the scope of trust to build bridges across disparate community groups. Boat people and Abbotsford's disciples of dhal smile across restored wood work benches to the music of a one man celtic reggae band.
