Lentil as Anything, in collaboration with Intoexcursions, are proud to announce a partnership that will operate classroom incursions in Melbourne schools, and school excursions at Lentil as Anything in Abbotsford.
This new and innovative program will help students learn about the unique story and business model of Lentil as Anything. Students will also learn about ethical business, community values, volunteering, food & culture, and organisational culture. They will also experience a guided tasting of the menu of the day, and hear the great stories behind the food.
School teacher and parental enquiries about how to participate in the upcoming program can be made by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by telephoning 0405 120 074. The program is designed to meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum, and is therefore a valuable resource for teachers.
Intoexcursions was established as a result of identifying a gap in the way that primary and secondary school students are currently being taught in Australia.
It was found that throughout their formative learning years, invaluable untapped opportunities existed for students to be able to gain newfound classroom knowledge, and then soon thereafter, be able to apply that same knowledge in a real world scenario (e.g. within commercial and manufacturing businesses, non-profit organisations etc.). Doing so would enable students to be much more engaged back at school, and would support them to become more effective life-long learners.
Providing students’ opportunities of seeing how their knowledge can be applied in a range of real world scenarios, would also potentially assist them to identify personal vocational preferences and to help shape their career choices.
Linking classroom learning with industry and society is a very powerful way to prepare students for what are definitely challenging times ahead. Promoting the ability to question things, and of being innovative are key to this nation’s future success.
There are numerous incursion and excursion programs on offer in the market that are good. There are, however, very few thoughtfully developed, consistently-themed and sequentially-structured incursion and excursion programs that provide applied learning experiences, both in the classroom and in the real world – that’s the difference!
Intoexcursions is at the forefront of this exciting new way of educating students, to help them reach their true potential. Its passionate founders, and equally passionate business/organisation partners, are jointly committed to help educate young Australians.
